Uptiq Expands U.S. Banking Leadership as Institutions Move AI From Pilot to Production

Uptiq, the bank-grade AI platform for financial institutions, today announced senior appointments to its banking leadership team as demand from banks and credit unions accelerates to move AI out of pilots and into production. Financial regulators require explainability, audit readiness, and human oversight in decisions made by agents, requirements that general-purpose AI tools were never designed to satisfy.

Gagan Kanjlia joins as Chief Banking Officer. Amit Parmar joins as Executive Vice President of Strategic Accounts. Marc Billanti returns as Senior Vice President of Sales.

The appointments

Gagan Kanjlia, Chief Banking Officer. Kanjlia will own Uptiq’s product strategy and revenue for the Bank and Credit Union market. He joins from Alkami Technology, where he served as Chief Product Officer. He was previously Chief Product Officer at Silicon Valley Bank and Head of Product at OnDeck. He spent seventeen years at Capital One, where he founded the Capital One Garage and led product teams across its retail banking and financial services divisions. He holds multiple patents in digital payments and banking interoperability.

Amit Parmar, Executive Vice President of Strategic Accounts and Data Strategy. Parmar will drive Uptiq’s product and data strategy, regulatory framework, and strategic banking partnerships, shaping the next generation of AI-enabled banking products. He joins from JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he spent four years as General Manager and Managing Director of Business Lending, owning strategy and P&L for the firm’s Small Business Lending portfolio. He previously spent fourteen years at American Express, most recently leading the integration and relaunch of Kabbage into a scaled digital lending engine.

Marc Billanti, Senior Vice President of Sales. Billanti will lead Uptiq’s sales organization for the Bank and Credit Union market, with responsibility for scaling the commercial motion behind the platform. He is returning from JUDI.AI, where he was Chief Sales Officer leading go-to-market for AI-powered small business lending. He was previously part of sales leadership at Uptiq, and his 25-year career includes VP of Sales for North America at Q2 and leadership roles at MX, Kasasa, OnDeck, and Baker Hill.

Quotes

“Institutions have proven the value of Uptiq’s AI solutions in pilots. The work now is about scaling those solutions,” said Snehal Fulzele, Founder and CEO of Uptiq. “Our customers are not asking whether AI works. They are asking how fast they can put it in front of borrowers and members without giving up control. This team gets them there.

“Community and regional institutions do not need to be convinced that AI matters. They need a path that fits their team, their systems, and their regulators,” said Gagan Kanjlia, Chief Banking Officer at Uptiq. “That path exists now. Our job is to make it obvious.”
