As America turns 250, the Arsenal of Democracy hosts the nation’s highest military tribute and invites partners to stand with American heroes.

From September 30 through October 3, 2026, the city hosts the 2026 Congressional Medal of Honor Society Convention for the first time in Michigan’s history, as an officially designated America 250 and Freedom 250 event. The Medal of Honor is the highest recognition the nation gives for military valor. Since President Abraham Lincoln established it in 1861, fewer than 3,600 service members have received it.
