For more than 30 years, the annual SAGE Awards have recognized innovative professionals, projects and programs that elevate the quality of life for adults ages 55 and older throughout the western United States. Ferrero was selected for the prestigious Person of the Year honor in recognition of his exceptional leadership and lasting impact on the senior housing and 55+ active adult industry.

Over the course of his career, Ferrero has led the acquisition, development, marketing and operations of more than $6 billion in real estate portfolios nationwide. His work has helped shape the evolution of modern senior housing through thoughtful community planning, innovative development strategies and a continued focus on creating meaningful living experiences for older adults.

In addition to Ferrero’s individual honor, two Clearwater Living communities currently in development were also recognized as part of the 2026 SAGE Awards program, further underscoring the company’s continued commitment to innovation, thoughtful design and elevated senior living experiences.
