BerryDunn to Host NAVIGATE, its Fourth Annual Healthcare Leadership Summit

BerryDunn, a full-service accounting, tax, and consulting firm, will host its fourth annual Healthcare Leadership Summit on Thursday, May 14. The summit, branded this year as NAVIGATE, is a virtual half-day event designed to address emerging and highly relevant topics for healthcare leaders, ranging from the responsible use of AI to regulatory and compliance hot topics to leveraging rural healthcare funding and the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).

Reflecting BerryDunn’s ongoing commitment to the healthcare industry, the 2026 summit will focus on innovative, forward-looking strategies to help organizations move toward long-term sustainability and growth. More than 10 experts from BerryDunn’s team of healthcare accountants and consultants will offer their insights and guidance on leading with clarity through change.

BerryDunn’s Healthcare Leadership Summit originated as two separate industry-focused events designed to deliver thought leadership to hospitals and senior living organizations. In 2023, the firm launched its first leadership-focused summit, a signature event that offers high-level programming geared to both new and experienced leaders in the field.

“Every year, the challenges facing healthcare organizations get more and more complex,” said Andrea Colfer, Principal in BerryDunn’s Healthcare Practice Group. “Our goal at the summit is to support healthcare leaders by sharing cutting-edge strategies and practical advice on what it takes to remain sustainable—and thrive—in a constantly shifting landscape.”

This year’s summit kicks off with a session titled, “Navigating the Now: Expert Insights on Healthcare Industry Hot Topics,” led by Jennifer Gureckis, Senior Manager in BerryDunn’s Healthcare Practice Group. The session brings together distinguished professionals from BerryDunn, who have specialized expertise in the full spectrum of today’s most pressing healthcare issues.

Following the opening presentation, Susan Prior, a Principal in BerryDunn’s Healthcare Practice Group, will tackle the “OBBBA and Rural Health Transformation: What Finance and Revenue Cycle Leaders Need to Know Now” session. The summit also includes an in-depth look at “The Who, What, When, and How (and Maybe Why?) of Payer Audits,” presented by Principal Regina Mathieson, Manager Trisha Lee, and Manager Natalie Laaman.

The summit concludes with a session on “AI in the Enterprise: Critical Controls and Next Steps After Implementation,” presented by Principal Chris Ellingwood, who leads the firm’s IT assurance team, and Clare Lizotte, Risk Officer and Senior Corporate Counsel at BerryDunn.

Lisa Trundy-Whitten, Principal and leader of BerryDunn’s Healthcare Practice Group, said, “Summit attendees will have an opportunity to hear from our experts who are deeply immersed in the complex issues surrounding the industry today. As the name NAVIGATE suggests, our program aims to help organizations chart a successful path through an evolving eco-system—embracing innovation while minimizing risk and facilitating positive outcomes for the people they serve.”

BerryDunn stands out for its commitment to providing the depth and resources of a large firm while delivering high-quality and personalized attention to clients across the country. Members of the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group actively engage with national associations and committees to help address industry challenges. The firm serves a full spectrum of healthcare organizations, including community health centers, rural clinics, hospitals, senior living facilities, home health and hospice providers, medical and dental practices, specialty providers, and state veterans homes.
