Proxim Diagnostics Achieves Final System Development Milestone for Handheld Point-of-Care Immunodiagnostic Platform and Demonstrates Exceptional Troponin I Sensitivity

Proxim Diagnostics Corp., an innovative company developing a handheld, point-of-care immunodiagnostic platform, announced that it has achieved a final development milestone for its Profile platform, including completion of the handheld reader, disposable cartridge, and initial manufacturing capacity.

This milestone marks the transition of Proxim’s platform from its product development phase into production readiness for future clinical and strategic partnering opportunities. The company’s portable and fully automated immunoassay system is designed to run high-sensitivity biomarker assays using disposable cartridges, bringing centralized lab-quality performance closer to the patient.

“Completing development of our handheld reader, cartridge, and initial manufacturing capacity is a major milestone for Proxim. We now have a fully developed product platform that is ready to support high-value clinical and RUO opportunities,” said Mikhail Briman, Ph.D., CEO and co-founder of Proxim Diagnostics. “Our goal has always been to bring the sensitivity and precision of centralized laboratory testing into a portable point-of-care format, and this achievement puts us in a strong position to engage strategic partners and customers across biopharma, acute care, women’s health, and other important clinical and research areas.”

Potential opportunities include Proxim’s RUO assays for IL-6, IFN-gamma, CXCL9, and other cytokines in inpatient and outpatient facilities for biopharma clients developing T-cell engager therapies, where rapid cytokine measurements may support the prediction, monitoring, and management of CRS, ICANS, HLH, and other immuno-oncology therapy-related adverse effects.

Proxim is also advancing opportunities in acute care biomarkers, including cardiac and inflammatory markers, where fast, reliable point-of-care testing can help clinicians make time-sensitive decisions. In particular, Proxim’s platform has demonstrated key analytical traits associated with high-sensitivity troponin testing. The company’s high-sensitivity troponin I (hs-TnI) assay has achieved an 81% detectable rate in the normal population, a performance level that Proxim believes positions the system as one of the best-in-class point-of-care solutions for identifying the presence of this heart attack biomarker.

The Profile System is designed as a flexible immunoassay platform capable of supporting multiple assay types on the same handheld reader. Proxim believes this architecture may enable a broad test menu over time, including RUO assays for biopharma customers and future clinical assays subject to applicable regulatory requirements.
